The first whiskey crafted, distilled and aged in Newfoundland is hitting the shelves.
The Newfoundland Distillery Company has released its Single Pot Newfoundland Whiskey, the first of its kind sold commercially. The brew has been aged for three years, one day, and an extra-half hour in Clarke’s Beach.
Peter Wilkins with the distilling company explains the process behind making their whiskey.
He says it is made with a combination of molted and standard barley and distilled three-times in a copper pot still, before being popped into a barrell for three years.
Wilkins says its a cross of Irish and Scottish whiskey. The spirit is rolling out to stores and has been selling out quickly
