An RCMP investigation into the sale of uninspected meat has lead to a public alert from Alberta Health Services (AHS) and forced the closure of several Calgary stores.
AHS says there are now eight businesses in the city that have been ordered to close, and are urging anyone who bought meat from any of the locations to dispose of it right away.
“AHS has issued closure orders to each of these business between April 19 and April 22, 2024, following inspections that confirmed the presence of uninspected meat products,” reads the alert.

The alert from AHS warns of significant health risk associated with potentially uninspected meant.
Anyone who consumed meat from any of the businesses are being advised to watch for symptoms of gastro-intestinal bacterial infection.
On Monday, RCMP said they had informed AHS about several Calgary stores linked to their investigation into the illegal slaughter of goats and sheep in southern Alberta.
