B.C. golf courses expect Albertans to heed travel ban Back to video
And they expect their neighbours to the east to heed those government-imposed regulations.
“Travel is currently discouraged provincially and nationally, so I doubt we will see any Alberta traffic anytime soon,” said James Presnail, GM of Shadow Ridge Golf Club in Kelowna. “Stay safe, and I hope we see our normal interprovince exchanges when it’s safe to do so.”
For now, though, the Alberta government has stood firm on a decision to keep golf courses shut down during the COVID-19 crisis, with Dr. Deena Hinshaw, Alberta’s chief medical officer of health, deeming them ‘non-essential.’
That has frustrated many in Alberta’s golf community who believe social distancing can be followed on our golf courses.
