The B.C. Lottery Corp. introduced the province’s newest multimillionaire Thursday morning during its first virtual winner’s celebration.
Tibor Tusnady, a 63-year-old pharmacist who bought his ticket in Surrey, matched all six numbers to win the $16.4-million jackpot from the April 15 Lotto 6/49 draw.

The presentation was delayed due to COVID-19 physical-distancing measures but went ahead Thursday during a low-key Facebook Live event withBCLC interim president Greg Moore.The twodemonstrated proper social distancing during the livestream by remaining six feet apart — roughly the width of a giant novelty cheque.
Tusnady said he was stunned to learn he had won the jackpot, a moment that occurred while he was “in the smallest room in the house.”
“I was just so much in shock, I went back and finished watching TV with my spouse, and I still said nothing,” he said. “I don’t know what we were watching.
