Another lottery millionaire has been created in Kamloops.
In the Saturday, Aug. 12, Lotto 6/49 draw, one ticket purchased in Kamloops matched the 10-digit Gold Ball Draw (separate from the classic Lotto 6/49 draw, with a computer-generated 10-digit number of 11163383-04) to claim the $1-million prize.
There has been no word yet on who won the money or at what lottery kiosk the lucky ticket was purchased.
Kamloops has been a lucky lottery spot of late, with two residents winning $35 million each in separate draws.
Rhonda Malesku won $35 million when her ticket’s seven numbers matched all seven numbers drawn in the July 25 Lotto Max draw. Malesku shared the $70-million jackpot with a ticket purchaser in Alberta. Malesku bought her ticket at the lottery kiosk in Walmart and chose her own numbers.
On June 23, 2021, Gary Hill of Kamloops won $35 million in that date’s Lotto Max draw, splitting the $70-million jackpot with one other lucky ticket buyer in Ontario. Hill purchased his winning ticket from McGoo’s Smokes N Stuff in Northills Centre in North Kamloops. He also chose his own numbers.
