Not much movement is expected in the price of gas tomorrow but it’s almost irrelevant at this point with the Public Utilities Board stepping in what seems like every other day to adjust benchmarks. Gas went up by about 10 cents in the past week with the board stepping in four times to make adjustments.
Dan McTeague, an analyst and president of Canadians for Affordable Energy, expects to see a significant drop in diesel, about 9 cents. McTeague says the larger issue is that diesel fuel is in short supply.
Shutting down two refineries on the east coast, including Come By Chance, is having an impact on supply so McTeague expects to see the PUB make more adjustments over the next few days. He also expects heating fuels to decrease slightly in price overnight.
