Potential COVID-19 exposure at Halifax store, flight - HalifaxToday.ca

Nova Scotia Health is advising of a potential COVID-19 exposure at a downtown Halifax store and a Toronto to Halifax flight.

The first potential exposure occurred at the Dollarama in Scotia Square Mall between Oct. 27 and 30. Anyone at this location between 12 p.m. and 3 p.m. should monitor for COVID-19 symptoms.

The next potential exposure occurred on a Toronto to Halifax flight on Oct. 30. It was on WestJet flight WJ 254 which departed Toronto at 9:45 p.m. and landed in Halifax at 1 a.m. on Oct. 31. Passengers in rows 39 to 45 and in seats A, B or C are more likely to have had close contact. People in these seats should continue to self-isolate and call 811 for advice. All other passengers on this flight should also continue to self-isolate and monitor for COVID-19 symptoms.

Anyone exposed to COVID-19 in either of these situations may develop symptoms up to, and including, Nov. 13.

Symptoms include:

• fever or cough (new or worsening)

OR

• two or more of the following symptoms (new or worsening):
• sore throat
• runny nose
• headache
• shortness of breath

Anyone experiencing any of these symptoms in the last 48 hours should visit Nova Scotia's self-assessment page to do a self-assessment. Those who don't have access to the internet or who are concerned with other symptoms can call 811.

People should continue to self-isolate until receiving advice from 811 on next steps. No one should visit a COVID-19 assessment centre without being directed to do so by 811.

Currently, anyone travelling to Nova Scotia from outside of the Atlantic Provinces is expected to self-isolate for 14 days after arriving.
