That’s an “uncomfortable” level, which is why Montreal is still on red alert, Drouin told a press conference.

Côte-St-Luc, Snowdon, Côte-des-Neiges and Park Extension remain hot zones, to which other regions were recently added, including LaSalle, Lachine and Rivière-des-Prairies, she said.

The positivity rate is stable at 5 per cent across the island, but in some of the hard-hit areas the rate is above 10 per cent, she said.

Montreal currently has 247 active outbreaks; about 60 per cent of them have fewer than five cases.

The outbreaks include 112 in schools, 53 in workplaces, 36 in daycares and 34 in the health care system.
