Newfoundland and Labrador is reporting two new deaths from COVID-19 today.
The first death is a man in his 60s, while other is a man above the age of 70.
Both deaths occurred in the Central Health region.
The province is reporting 21 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 today.
Those cases were recorded since the last update on Friday.
The breakdown is as follows:
There are 8 cases in the Eastern Health region.
One case is under 20, one is between 20 and 39, three are in their 50s and three are in their 60s.
One case is a contact of a previous case, six are travel related, and one is under investigation.
Twelve new cases are in Central.
One case is under 20, three are between 20 and 39, one is in their 40s, two in their 50s, three in their 60s, and two over the age of 70.
Five cases are contacts of previous cases while the others are under investigation.
There’s one new travel related case in the Labrador-Grenfell Health region, a woman between 20 and 39.
As well, there are three new presumptive positive cases.
There have been 62 new recoveries since Friday’s update, leaving 69 active cases in the province.
Meanwhile, the Twillingate and New World Island areas are moving back to Alert Level 2, effective immediately.
This includes communities accessed via route 340, starting at and including Boyd’s Cove.
Public Health says the change is based on the Public Health investigation to date and the epidemiology in the region.
The risk to the public is said to be low.
