Atlantic Premiers Calling for Urgent Action in Response to Reduced WestJet Services - VOCM

The Premiers of the four Atlantic Provinces are calling for “urgent action” from the federal government to address the gaps left by a reduction in services from Westjet.

Yesterday, the airline announced the suspension of service to airports in Moncton, Fredericton, Sydney, Charlottetown and Quebec City as of November 2, and a reduction of services in St. John’s and Halifax.

Premier Andrew Furey, along with the premiers of Nova Scotia, PEI and New Brunswick are joining together to express their “deep concern” about the move.

They say that we must work as a region and country to ensure such vital transportation links remain in place.
