Charges laid in 2019 robbery investigation

Four people from Sarnia-Lambton are facing several charges in connection with a robbery that took place in December 2019.

Provincial police said the investigation started on Dec. 28, 2019, after two people allegedly broke into a residence on Ravenswood Line in Lambton Shores. OPP said the robbery suspects left the area in the victim’s vehicle, which was recovered later that day.

Five warrants throughout Sarnia-Lambton were executed on Thursday, as part of a joint effort between the Sarnia Police Services and various departments of the OPP, including the Lambton County Crime Unit. As a result, four people were arrested and charged.

Donald Coke, 48, of Sarnia was charged with robbery, two counts of break and enter a dwelling house, forcible confinement, two counts of possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000, theft of a motor vehicle, and theft over $5,000.

Raymond LeBlanc, 62, of Sarnia was charged with robbery, forcible confinement, possession of a schedule I substance – fentanyl, two counts of break and enter a dwelling house, possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000, theft of a motor vehicle, and theft over $5,000.

Michael St Jean, 46, of Sarnia was charged with robbery, two counts of break and enter a dwelling house, forcible confinement, two counts of possession of a schedule I substance – methamphetamine, possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000, theft of a motor vehicle, and theft over $5,000.

All three Sarnia residents have future court dates before the Ontario Court of Justice.

Brooke Stratton, 45, of Lambton Shores was also arrested and is charged with two counts of possession of a schedule I substance – methamphetamine, and possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000. Stratton was later released from police custody with a court date set for August 26 before the Ontario Court of Justice in Sarnia.

None of the charges against the accused have been proven in court.

Provincial police said the investigation is ongoing.
