Alberta has now experienced 6,860 total cases of COVID-19, with 5,924 — just over 86 per cent — recoveries.

To date, 624 cases have been due to unknown exposure, according to the province.

There have been 4,015 tests completed in the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of tests conducted in Alberta to 236,789.

It was an unexpected but unmistakeable sound in council chambers: a toilet flush.

Mute button mistakes have become an occupational hazard at Calgary city council meetings, which have been running remotely during the COVID-19 pandemic. As councillors and city staffers follow public-health advice to work from home if possible, only one member of council is in the room to chair each meeting. Apart from a handful of city staff helping run the meeting, virtually everyone else phones in.
